"My day" by Abril Faba

Today we woke up and had breakfast very early and then we went to the school and did class!

At the afternoon we had lunch and then we went to Dublinia with the Luas, el tramvia que du al centre de Dublin. Aquest museu exposava la vida medieval dels viquings, i hem vist cada part de la seva història a Irlanda detalladament.

Then we went to visit diferent shops in the center of Dublin and we saw a lot of pretty clothes. Later we returned by the Luas to the school. Then we went to our diferent houses and had dinner. At the evening we met with our friends and had a good time. At the night, at 10 o'clock we went to our houses and we went to sleep.

My host family (la família irlandesa de l'Abril) is really nice and wonderfull. The house is really big and confortable. In there lives Laura (the mother), Bryan (the father) and two daughters (Shona & Made) and the two sons (Ronand & Conan), but Conan is not in the house these days because he's in the east of Ireland. And then me and Kate (the russian student girl). They give to us all that we need and they are really nice and funny. I'm learning a lot of english practising with them and with my russian partener. It's a really god experience to meet new people, improve your english and enjoy a lot.

Un gran cap de setmana. Dissabte matí, bàsquet i per la tarda barbacoa familiar. Diumenge matí, aquarium i tarda cumple familiar i una altra barbacoa.

Hoy a sido un día en el que  el comienzo tenía toda la pinta de  que iba a ser rutinario como los demás con las clase. Pero después por la tarde, al ir a la Universidad Irlandesa y visitar la librería y tener tiempo libre, ha hecho que sea un gran día en el  que  poder disfrutar con los compañer@s, además de practicar con la gente nativa tanto para orientarse en Dublín, como para hacer comentarios sobre los espectáculos que realizan en las calles los bohemios.

Depués, la guinda del pastel, ha sido cuando hemos ido a cenar a una hamburguesería en la que había un gran ambiente en el que te apetecía llevar una conversación en un ambiente distendido. Por último hemos vuelto en el tranvía hasta el colegio, donde la monitora nos ha expuesto el  planning de mañana con las actividades de día siguiente.

Lessons, sports & bowling by Laura Domingo

Avui, malgrat que haguem perdut la noció del temps, és el nostre sisè dia des de que vam arribar a Dublín. Han estat uns dies en els que no hem parat un moment i la veritat és que arribem a casa molt cansats. Durant aquesta setmana hem visitat un parell de cops el centre de Dublín sempre tenint temps lliure per fer les nostres compres...

En quant a les famílies, no he conegut a ningú que es queixés de la seva. Jo la veritat és que estic molt contenta amb ells, em cuiden com uns avis i cuinen casi tan bé com a la nostra ciutat!

La única cosa de la que ens podem queixar és del temps; tanmateix fins el moment ens ha permès fer les activitats programades.

Avui serà un dia mogut, ja que després de les classes de cada matí anirem al Trinity College i ens quedarem a sopar pel centre de la ciutat.

Espero que els següents dies vagin igual de bé i esperem seguir coneixent a molta gent.

We're on Wednesday, in the middle of the week, we've just spent four days here, four days full of amazing activities and fantastic new friends and families.

Today I've expected to spend another great day and so was it. In the morning I've woken up at eight o'clock and then I've had breakfast with my mother (I call mum, dad, brother...to my host family members) and my to Italian sisters (the other two wonderful girls, called Julia and Constanza, who live with me in the house). Then I've gone to school, there I've met my Spanish, Italian and French friends and we've been talking for a few minutes, and like every day, at half past nine the classes have started.

I'm really enjoying my English clases, I'm learning many things, especially being able to speak English fluently. Also I want to say that I'm very lucky because my classmates are amazing (Maxime, David, Ana, Constanza,...).

The classes end at quarter to one, so then we've gone all together to The Canteen to have lunch.
Every afternoon we do different activities. Yesterday we had a fabulous Gaelic football training and today we've gone to the Wax Museum. The Wax Museum is situated in the city center of Dublín, so we've picked the Luas, the tram, and we've arrived there in just twenty minutes. Inside the museum we've seen and learned about some parts of the Irish History and culture like the Vikings, The Battle of The Boyne, The Good Friday Agreement and some things about the Irish Mythology. After all this great learning we've done some souvenir shopping and then we've gone back home to have dinner.

The dinner was delicious! My mother cooks really well and very healthy. I'm feeling so lucky to eat such a tasty food every day. During the dinner we've talked a lot. All the members of my family are very funny (now I can understand some humorous things like the Manflu) and for me it's a pleasure to learn English with them. Afterwards Brian, my brother, has gone to play a football match and I've gone with the Italian girls and other friends to the shopping center called Dundrum. Finally, around half past ten, we've gone back home to sleep.

It has been such a wonderful day!

This is my first time in Ireland and also my first time living with a family from a different country. I'm sure this experience will bring me a great improvement of my English level and also very good friends!

School & Disco

Primer dia "normal" a l'escola. Aquest matí ja hem tingut dues classes amb dos professors diferents. A algunes persones se les ha canviat de grup de nivell per ajustar-se més al seu nivell.

Per la tarda hem fet "drama", teatre a la catalana, una activitat que no agrada gaire ja que han de parlar i fer activitats davant de tot el grup... I sovint fa una mica de vergonya.

Després els més futboleros s'ho han passat d'allò més bé fent esport.

Finalitzat l'horari lectiu, cadascú a casa seva per anar a sopar i a arreglar-se. A quarts de vuit ens esperava un autocar a la porta de l'escola per portar-nos a una altre escola on hi feien una festa. El lloc estava prou bé, força gent i bona música. Potser massa llum...

Finally we are in Dublin!!

Yesterday after a long trip vam conèixer la nostra nova família. 

Tots estàvem molt nerviosos per saber com seria la nova casa i els membres que hi formen part. Un autocar ens va portar de l'aeroport a l'escola, on una a una van anar arribant les famílies. La primera impressió amb la família ha estat molt diferent i especial per a cada u de nosaltres. 

Dilluns la nostra vida acadèmica ha començat. Al matí hem fet una ràpida visita a l'escola i el test de nivell. Ens han posat en diferents grups segons l'examen escrit i el speaking test. Després ens han explicat el funcionament general i ens han anat cridant els diferents grups-classe. A la cantina hem anat a dinar el sandwich que ens havia preparat la família i després hem anat.a visitar Dublin. Tot el grup hem estat molt atents a les explicacions de la nostra guia. I el millor el temps lliure que ens han deixat després.
